Postal Early Retirement

Rumors and speculation on another postal service early retirement are beginning to flood the internet and post office workroom floors across the nation.
The Federal News Radio reports on the Monday Morning Federal Newscast - January 10th that the PMG is "reducing the officer ranks by 16 percent and closing one area office."
The Federal Times article Postal Service thins senior executive ranks, says "The closing of the Southeast Area Office in Memphis will affect 119 employees. Under reduction-in-force procedures, all will be able to bid on other jobs, Veto said, although some might choose to retire. She expected the closing to take three to four months."
The PostalReporter News Blog claims that the USPS To Offer Early Retirement, and quotes the following: "'As we continue our restructuring, we anticipate that a reduction in force (RIF) and a voluntary early retirement (VER) process will be initiated by the end of this fiscal quarter,” said Donahoe. “We will provide as much information as we can and will be as transparent as possible about goals and objectives throughout this time.'"
